
Sammy Gutiérrez,28-5-2-(19), scored a third round TKO against Luis Carrillo, 10-2-1-(9) to win the WBA interim minimumweight title San Martin Texmelucan, Puebla, Mexico on Saturday night.
Gutiérrez floored Carrillo in round three, the fight was stopped soon after at 1:24 of the round.
On the undercard featherweight Eduardo Escobedo improved to 29-1-(20), by out-pointing former world champ Cesar Soto over 10 rounds. The scores were 100-91, 99-92 and 97-94. Sotofalls to 63-20-3-(43).
In other action featherweight Nery Saguilan, 21-0-(9), remain unbeaten. He won a 10 round unanimous decision over Eduardo Lazcano for the WBO Latino featherweight title.
In another featherweight bout Andres Gutierrez scored a 10 round unanimous decision win over Andres Romero
