By Tri Nguyen: Hugo "Incredible" Cazares retained his WBA super-flyweight belt after stopping Alberto Rossel in the ninth round at the Centro de Convenciones Tlalnepantla de Galeana in Mexico City, Mexico.
Cazares (33-6-2, 23 KOs) was dominant early on and never let up in their scheduled 12 round bout at the 115 Lbs weight limit. He dropped Rossel (24-8, 11KOs) in the fourth round and continued his aggressive attack until the fight was stopped in the ninth round following another knockdown.
Rossel fought bravely to the very end and attempted a rally in the ninth round but was unable to match Cazares firepower. Cazares retains his WBA Junior Bantamweight title that he won from Nobou Nashiro in May 2010. He hasn’t lost a fight since dropping a technical decision to Ivan Calderon in August 2008.
