WBA super featherweight champion Jorge Linares , 27-0-(18), retained his title at Plaza De Toros in Tamaulipas, Mexico Saturday night via an eighth round tko win over Josafat Perez, 12-2-(7).
The one sided bout was waved off after 1.42 of the eighth round to stop the tough but outclassed challenger from taking further punishment.
Linares won the vacant title with a fifth round tko win over Whyber Garcia in November 2008 and was making his first title defence.
