By Paul Upham: Australian promoter Peter Maniatis is expanding internationally by co-promoting a boxing card with Zander Kahn’s ZK International Promotions at the Almendras Gym in Davao City, Philippines on Saturday 13 November 2010. The eight fight promotion will be headlined by Balweg Bangoyan vs. Eric Macas at super featherweight over ten rounds.
“I want to promote Balweg The Davao Hitman Bangoyan in Australia next year,” Melbourne based Maniatis told SecondsOut. “He has already fought for the WBC super bantamweight world title in Japan earlier this year and lost, but at 23 years old, I think he has got what it takes to get a crack again at the big time. In Australia he can fight anyone between 125 pounds and 130 pounds and I think he will do very well.”
Debuting in February 2006, 23 year-old Bangoyan 15-2 (6) from Jose Abad Santos, Davao del Sur, lost by 5th round stoppage to WBC super bantamweight world champion Toshiaki Nishioka on 30 April in Tokyo, Japan.
