Nishioka Retains Super—bantamweight Title In Kobe

WBC super-bantam champion Toshiaki Nishioka, 38-4-3-(24), scored a sixth round stoppage win over Mauricio Munoz to retain his WBC super-bantamweight title in Kobe, Japan on Friday.

Nishioka, who was leading 78-74 twice and 78-75 on all three scorecards after eight rounds, let go with a timely left uppercut in the ninth round to stun the teak tough challenger.

Following the uppercut, Nishioka followed up with some solid shots, from which Munoz hit the canvas and never recovered.
