Promoter Bob Arum has told the LA Times that his premier fighter, Manny Pacquiao will square off against recently beaten Brandon Rios, at the Venetian Resort in Macau, China on November 23rd.
Rios who lost an enthralling return with Mike Alvarado in March, was Pacquiao’s preferred choice of opponent, despite his recent loss. Freddie Roach, long time trainer to the multi weight world champion Filipino boxing star noted that his charges decision to choose Rios was partly down to the fact that he had easily handled Alvarado in sparring.
Arum told the LA Times "It’s a fight people want to see. Most boxing fans want to see guys mix it up"
This fight would mark a return to China for Top Rank promotions following the successful professional debut of Olympic and World Amateur champion, Zou Shiming in April this year.
