WBC heavyweight champion Sam Peter and WBC heavyweight champion emeritus Vitali Klitschko were in New York City today at Gallagher’s Steak House to promote their upcoming bout on October 11 in Berlin on Showtime Championship Boxing.

Look for a full report of today’s Peter-Klitschko press conference from SecondsOut.com’s Jerry Glick shortly.

Peter (30-1, 23 KOs) will make his first world title defense, while Klitschko (35-2, 34 KOs) will make his dramatic return to the ring following a four-year absence.

Immediately following the heavyweight world championship, which begins at 9 p.m. ET/PT on tape delay, two light heavyweight champions will meet live on SHOWTIME, when Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver and “Bad” Chad Dawson square off in a long-awaited grudge match.

The Peter-Klitschko showdown will be co-promoted by Duva Boxing, K2 Promotions and Don King Productions from Berlin, Germany. Tarver-Dawson will be promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, in association with AT Entertainment.
