Juan Carlos Reveco, 24-1-(14), of Argentina retained his WBA light flyweight interim crown via a fifth round tko against Armando Torres, 13-6-(8), at the Polideportivo Vicente Polimeni in Las Heras, Argentina Saturday night.
Reveco always had his nose in front throughout the bout before flooring Torres with a straight right hand in the third round. Torres managed to last out the round but it was the beginning of the end for the brave challenger.
A heavy overhand right from Reveco had Torres again visiting the canvas but agains Torrese bravely beat the count. Torres . HoweveR, Torres looked shakey on his feet and Reveco piled on the pressure to force his cornermen to throw in the towel and save their man for another further punishment.
The referee stopped the bout at 2:28 of round five.
