Roman Gonzalez Set To Defend Against Gilberto Keb Bass

WBA light-flyweight champion Roman Gonzalez is set to defend his crown against former titlist Gilberto Keb Bass on October 1.

The bout will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on a bill that also features Toshiaki Nishioka against Rafael Marquez for the WBC super-bantamweight strap.

Gonzalez, 29 – 0 (24 KOs), has held a portion of the light-flyweight championship since he knocked out Francisco Rojas inside two rounds last October.

Keb Bass was the WBC belt-holder for a five month period spanning November 2010 and April of this year. He lost the title when the doctor stopped him clash with Adrian Hernandez in round 11.
