Canadian cruiserweight Troy Ross begins the long road back to title contention on October 30 when he faces fellow Canadian Carl Handy at the Casino Rama Hotel and Casino in Ontario, Canada on October 30.

Not only will the popular well spoken 35 year-old be fighting in front of his home fans for the first time in five years, he will also want to erase from his memory the fifth round tko loss to American Steve Cunningham for the IBF cruiserweight title on June 5.

Ross, who is known as ’The Boss’, floored Cunningham in the fourth round and looked to be edging the fight when an accidental thumb in the eye forced Ross to retire(the official results was a tko).

The popular part time actor has now fully recovered from his injury and is looking to re-establish himself before once again challenging for one of the world cruiserweight title within the next 12 months.

Speaking to broadcaster Al Bernstein earlier this month Ross said: “I’m so happy to be fighting in front of my home fans in Ontario for the first time in five years.

“Our plan is to be fighting for a world title again within the next year. We don’t care if its Steve Cunningham again, Marco Huck or one of the other champions. Our plan is just to fight and make sure we have a title.”

On the undercard of this Knockout Entertainment Canada promoted card Hagar Finer of Israel will be defending her WIBF female world title over 10 2-minute rounds. She will be seeking revenge against Julia Sahin of Germany who beat her earlier in her career . This is a mouthwatering contest for the Israeli boxer, who hopes to face Canadian Lisa “Bad News Brown” who is also boxing on Rumble at Rama XIII card against Jeri Sitzes for a third time in an eagerly awaited rematch.

Rumble at Rama XIII will be promoted by Knockout Entertainment Canada, in association with Casino Rama.

Tickets for Rumble at Rama XIII are $25, $50, $75 & $125 and are available in-person at the Casino Rama Box Office, and at all TicketMaster locations, by calling (416) 870-8000 and online at www.casinorama.com. Ticket prices do not include applicable taxes or service charges.
