
WBC No.3 ranked middleweight Marco Antonio Rubio kicked off 2011 with a bang by knocking out the previously unbeaten Wilson Santana at the Coliseo Centenario in Torreon, Mexico on Saturday night.
The time of the stoppage was 0:45. Rubio, who will now look to face unbeaten Canadian puncher David Lemieux, improves to 49-5-1-(42), Santana falls to 11-1-(7).
In other action, super featherweight Miguel Roman improved to 33-7-(25), with a first round tko win over Angel Priolo, 30-9-(20). At middleweight Marco “Dorado Reyes went 19-1-(17), when he also scored an opening round tko win over Rito Ruvalcaba.
