Samil Sam is suffering from cirrhosis of the liver. The two-time former two European heavyweight champion had been rushed to the intensive care unit after he spat up blood.

Sam’s doctor Dr. Ayca Bozoklu confirmed that for the moment a liver transplant does not appear necessary. Sinan is under medication and further observation. For the medium term, a transplant may be an option if a suitable organ donor is found.
