By Teddy Stenmark: Talented Swedish light heavyweight amateur star, Erik Skoglund is rumoured to be turn professional later this spring.
The skilful Swede with his roots in Nyköping, Sweden has, despite his young age (born 1991) participated in well over 100 bouts (111 to be exact) and made quite an impact lately in the German Bundes league for his team Box Team Nord.
His crossover to the professional ranks hasn’t fully been announced yet but seems very likely to happen, to which promoter he will be offering his services has been kept a secret for now. An official announcement will probably be made in the coming weeks.
Erik is tonight (March 5), set to make his final appearance as an amateur in a Swedish ring when he takes on a strong Irish boxer at Redbergslid’s Boxing Club’s annual International Boxing Event at “Storan” (A theatre in central Gothenburg).
