IBF Middleweight Champion Sebastian Sylvester (34-3-1, 16 KOs) will return to the ring on May 7 when he defends his title against mandatory challenger Daniel Geale (24-1, 15 KOs) in Neubrandenburg, Germany.
The two camps struck a deal last weekend before the official purse bid was due. It will be Sylvester´s first fight since a clear points victory over Mahir Oral last October. A virus infection forced him to pull out of his clash with Mehdi Bouadla in January.

“It was not a good start to the year but I took a long break and now I am ready to fight again,” Sylvester said. “I really look forward to returning to Neubrandenburg. I have to make up for the late cancellation last time with an entertaining performance and a big win.”
Geale comes off a spectacular TKO victory over former world champion Roman Karmazin in his home country Australia. He boasts a record of 24 victories with just one loss (15 KOs). “I am prepared for a tough challenge,” Sylvester added. As the top-ranked contender, Geale poses a big threat. But I will defend my title.”
