Steve ‘The Dragon’ Claggett stopped the previously unbeaten Mexican Jose Julio Mendoza in the third round to claim the WBC youth junior welterweight title in Calgary,Alberta on Friday(Jan 14) night.
The previously unbeaten Mendoza, 7-1-(3). Was floored twice in round two. Mendoza beat the count but was again dropped in the third round with a left hook to the body. Mendoza got to his feet once again but the bout was stopped after 2.54 of round three.
Claggett moves to 11-0-1-(6).
