David Tua says he will be ready for anything when he faces Monte Barrett in a rematch at the TelstraClear Pacific Centre in Manukau City, New Zealand on August 13.
The two former world title challengers fought to a majority draw over 12 rounds in New Jersey two years ago. At a media workout earlier today a happy and fit looking Tua said: “I’ve been working very hard. I will go 12 rounds if I have to"
At age 38 Tua knows how important the rematch with Barrett is and he will be prepared for anything.
"The win is the most important thing and I want to win well. If it is to be by points, so be it... I’m prepared for anything."
In their first fight at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City Tua was floored for the first time and he will not want to experience that painful experience again. The WBO Asia Pacific and WBO Oriental heavyweight titles will be on the line.
