This really was a terrific fight. I saw Bernard (it is just pronounced the regular way you Yanks say it, perhaps the commentator's accents confused you!) fight in 2007 when he was knocked out in the first round so I didn't buy tickets for this one. Then I started to write about it, realized it probably would be an interesting fight, but by then it was sold out! I watched it in a pub down the road from the O2 and published an account on bleacherreport.com afterward (bleacherreport.com/articles/143935-fight-of-the-year-bernard-dunne-defeats-ricardo-cordoba) in which I also marked it out as a fight of the year contender. Nice to see someone from across the pond getting the word out there. Whether or not Dunne is truly as world class as Vasquez or Marquez remains to be seen (he sparred with the former at the Wild Card years ago) but this certainly is the fight he'll be remembered for.
