Adam Booth has given his insight into the upcoming heavyweight showdown between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois.
Wardley will be making his first defence of the WBO world title he was awarded when Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt last year, rather than face him.
He put together two good wins in 2025, both of which saw him come from behind on the cards to turn the fights on their head with some late power shots that ended with him getting KO wins over Justis Huni and then Joseph Parker.
Dubois’s last outing came in July against Usyk who knocked him out for a second time to become history’s first-ever two-time undisputed heavyweight ruler in the four belt era.
Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, trainer Booth laid out why he favours Wardley in this match-up.
“It’s a great match up because they both have very obvious strengths and both got very obvious weakness. When I strip it down to it, I probably slightly favour Fabio, because he takes it a little bit better.
“He’s been worked over in a number of his fights and never once lost heart, or certainly didn’t lose his power, and has been able to turn them on a sixpence later in the fight.
“Whereas Daniel has struggled at times when it hasn’t gone his way. That’s not to say he doesn’t have the power to flatten Fabio, because he does. It’s a really even match-up and a really good fight.”
Neither of these men has a significant amateur career behind them; however, both have plenty of punching power, which is what makes it such an exciting fight.
