Turki Alalshikh is keen for Oleksandr Usyk to fight on.
Ukrainian southpaw Usyk is many people’s fighter of the year. He has achieved everything there is to achieve in the boxing ring and is more decorated than just about any other fighter.
After winning an Olympic gold medal he turned over and within six years had beat all comers in the cruiserweight division to become undisputed champion in 2018
Six years on from that he repeated the feat at heavyweight to become to first man to be undisputed in both divisions in the four-belt era. Along the way he beat the likes of Derek Chisora, twice outpointed Anthony Joshua to relieve him of his world titles and also knocked out Daniel Dubois.
In May and December last year he took Tyson Fury 12 rounds and twice beat him to give the ‘Gypsy King’ the only losses of his career.
Were he to walk away from the sport, he would already go down as one of the best to ever do it.
However, speaking to The Stomping Ground after his most recent win out in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh outlined who he would like Usyk to fight next.
“If Dubois wins in February, I want to see Usyk-Dubois again.”
Dubois is the current IBF World Champion having picked up the belt by beating Fillip Hrgovic back in the summer after it was relinquished by Usyk in order to honour his rematch with Fury. He had previously challenged Usyk for the unified titles but lost by ninth round stoppage.
After knocking out Joshua in his first defence, Dubois will now face former WBO world champion Joseph Parker on February 22. The Brit has been criticised for overlooking Parker by already calling for the undisputed rematch against Usyk.
