‘Most Feared Heavyweight’ vs ‘Future Of The Division’ Targeted For Canelo vs Crawford Undercard

A heavyweight battle featuring two well-known American fighters could be heading for one of the biggest cards of the year.

The heavyweight division is currently ruled by WBC, WBA and WBO Oleksandr Usyk, who will look to become undisputed once again when he meets IBF champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium this weekend.

Dubois became IBF heavyweight champion last summer after Usyk vacated the belt, and the Brit has established himself as one of the best in the division with stoppage wins over Anthony Joshua, Filip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller in his last three outings.

One of those aforementioned men is now set to return in September, with Miller reported to be in talks for a showdown with Jared Anderson on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford undercard, as per The Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger.

That event is set to take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on September 13, and would see both Miller, who has branded himself the most feared heavyweight, and Anderson attempting to get back towards the top of the heavyweight division.

Miller has fought just once since that loss to Dubois, a controversial majority decision draw with Andy Ruiz Jr last August, while Anderson was beaten for the first time when he was stopped in five rounds by Martin Bakole on the same card and has since returned with an uninspiring points win over Marios Kollias in February. Prior to the defeat, Anderson had been widely regarded as America’s heavyweight hope for the title race in the future. Former two-time ruler Tyson Fury believes he can still get there.

There has been a playful rivalry between the two men for a number of years due to them each possessing the nickname ‘Big Baby’, and that was on display when they recently met in New York to discuss the fight.
