Allen is a much-loved heavyweight who has always blown rather hot and cold throughout his career. He was quickly pushed up through the ranks and always put in a fine showing against tough opponents like Dillian Whyte, Tony Yoka and David Price.
However, in fights he was more likely to win, he sometimes took his eye off the ball and lost to the likes of Lenroy Thomas.
After a few years away from the spotlight, he came back in terrific shape for the fight with ‘The Romford Bull’ and many believe he put up his best-ever showing in the ring. But it was Fisher who got the nod, much to the constrain of many boxing fans both in attendance in Saudi Arabia but also online, plenty of which branded it a ‘robbery’.
Speaking on his own channel, Allen ruled out a second fight with Fisher despite being offered it by promoter Eddie Hearn and explained why.
“I said no I don’t want the rematch. In the heat of the moment I looked at Johnny Fisher and that’s a young fella at 25 and I thought he does not need another fight like that cause his career will be very short.”
