Dave Allen is a student of boxing and has now predicted what might happen if Moses Itauma were to fight Tyson Fury right now.
These are two boxers at very different ends of their careers. Itauma is a 13-fight star who is fast rising through the ranks and has previously been hailed by Fury and two-time undisputed ruler Oleksandr Usyk as a future world champion.
He has knocked out 11 of his opponents, nine of them inside the first two rounds, and the last time he stepped in the ring, he stopped Dillian Whyte inside the opening two minutes.
Fury is the former world heavyweight champion who has stopped the likes of Deontay Wilder but twice lost to Usyk in 2024, which sent him into retirement in January of this year.
Since then, many have hoped he will change his mind and come back for what would be a huge showdown with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua, although first Joshua must beat Jake Paul this weekend.
In a round of winner stays on with Clubhouse Boxing, popular British heavyweight Allen was asked to pick between the two men.
“Current? I’m going to have to go… Itauma’s not proven, but I believe the hype, I’m going to go Itauma.”
Itauma has been linked with a fight with Murat Gassiev, the former cruiserweight who just knocked out the veteran Kubrat Pulev to become the WBA Regular champion.
Before that, the 20-year-old puts his unbeaten record on the line on January 24 when he takes on former Whyte and Joshua victim Jermaine Franklin in Manchester.
