Two-time world champion Amir Khan has summed up Terence Crawford‘s chances of defeating Canelo Alvarez when they do battle next month.

The pound-for-pound superstars are set to go head-to-head for the undisputed world super-middleweight championship on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

‘Bud’ Crawford is gearing up to make his first ever appearance at 168lbs, having already been undisputed at super-lightweight and welterweight.

One man who has experience in sharing the ring with both fighters is British boxing legend Khan, who fell short in his attempts at defeating the pound-for-pound stars during his tenure, being stopped on both occasions.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Khan was asked if he believes Crawford has the natural strength to compete with Canelo.

“He might be even stronger than Canelo, he might pack the weight on well, he might do really well in there.”

Khan was then asked to compare the differences of his former rivals, revealing that he thinks the Mexican icon is the stronger fighter but is ‘easily hit’.

“Canelo’s stronger and he’s easily hit, very easily hit, very easily, compared to when I fought against Crawford, Crawford I couldn’t hit clean, so really that’s the difference.”

Whilst he is faced with what should be the toughest test of his career, history beckons for Crawford as the 37-year-old from Omaha will become the first male fighter in boxing history to win an undisputed championship in several weight classes, should he be victorious over Canelo in just four weeks time.
