Amir Khan is looking forward to seeing Daniel Dubois take on Joseph Parker next year.
Dubois has more than proven himself at the top level in the last year or so. After a rocky start to his career that saw him knockout plenty of low-level opposition but then get stopped by Joe Joyce when he stepped up. He has rebuilt in impressive fashion and grown in confidence at every step of the way, save for a world championship loss against Oleksandr Usyk.
His superb current run with a stoppage win over huge American Jarrell Miller in December 2023 in the final few seconds of their 10-round clash. Dubois backed that up by beating Filip Hrgovic inside the distance six months later.
His most impressive win of all came in September when he knocked Anthony Joshua down multiple times before stopping him in the fifth round of their battle for the IBF belt in London.
Parker has also had mixed fortunes across his career. He is a former WBO world champion who lost out to the likes of Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte and Joyce, but in his last two fights has beaten American puncher Deontay Wilder and huge Chinese contender Zhilei Zhang to set up this world title shot on February 22.
Ahead of that and speaking to Box Nation, former world champion Khan has given his assessment and is picking ‘DDD.’
“I like Dubois man, Dubois is a beast. I said that when he fought against Hrgovic. I said who is this kid, this kid’s good, I remember watching that live. I like the way he fought, how he puts his punches together, how strong he is and how he took that fighter apart.
Obviously he’s coming off a great win against Anthony Joshua so he’s going to have more confidence. So yeah, I think I’ve got Dubois winning that.”
