Amir Khan vs Billy Dib: All the details you need to know including how to watch
Amir Khan was scheduled to face former MMA fighter Neeraj Goyat in the main event of this show, but injuries suffered by the Indian boxer in a car crash led to his withdrawal and former IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib, of Australia, stepping in at just over two weeks’ notice. You can read our analysis of whether it is a better fight than the original incarnation, but there is curiosity value both in the location and in seeing how Khan looks after losing to Terence Crawford in April and against a late replacement. Dib also fought in April, but for less than a round against undemanding opposition, and that was at lightweight. He is a faded force and far smaller than Khan but has skills and heart.
The bout takes place on Friday, July 12.
King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
12 x 3 minutes for the vacant WBC International welterweight title.
UK TV Coverage
Live coverage is on Channel 5 from 9pm, with 5Spike showing the undercard, including Prince Patel, from 8pm.
A mixed bag to say the least but there is some intrigue in seeing world-level Mancunian heavyweight Hughie Fury take on the ghost of former WBC champion Sam Peter, while cocky London bantam Prince Patel bids for the vacant IBO belt against average Venezuelan Michell Banquez.
