Anderson Silva is the only man to have fought both Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Paul and Chavez Jr meet at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on June 28, as ‘The Problem Child’ looks to take the next step in his ambitious quest to become a world champion.

After a long and successful career in the UFC, Silva turned to boxing and fought Paul over eight rounds back in October 2022. He was dropped by the Youtuber-turned-boxer in the final round as Paul claimed a unanimous decision victory.

Just under 18 months prior to that, Silva had met Chavez Jr, and caused an upset by defeating the former WBC middleweight champion by split decision, in what was Silva’s first professional boxing match in nearly 16 years, and only third overall.

Having experienced what it is like to have gone up against both Paul and Chavez Jr, Silva’s son Gabriel Silva revealed to ESNews that his father is backing the Mexican to win.

“He’s definitely going for Chavez.

It all depends on which Chavez we’re going to get on the night of the fight. If he’s going to be focused or if he’s been lacking around.

From what I heard he’s been training at Mayweather’s gym, I know a lot of those guys in there. So you can never count that out, I don’t even know if he’s ever been dropped, a guy like Jake might not have it to put him out. It’s going to be a good fight but my dad is definitely going for Chavez.”

While Silva is seemingly looking forward to the bout, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has given a scathing assessment on the clash.
