The controversial bout between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is now only a little over a month away.
Tyson is a legend, who was once the youngest-ever world heavyweight champion, but he has been retired for nearly 20 years and is almost 60 years old, as he prepares to do battle with a man who has had just 11 fights and lost one of them.
Paul is also not yet 30 and has never fought anyone with the experience of Tyson, let alone the raw punching power.
Speaking on The Jonathon Ross Show, former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says he understood why the contest irritates some people.
“Well, I personally think it’s really good. I think that the boxing hardcores, the boxing fanatics, they don’t like it, because it’s like why are they disrespecting our sport, there’s an Olympic system you have to go through and once you qualify there you go into the pro ranks whereas someone with a profile can just come out and fight the best guys.”
He was then asked to pick a winner in the fight and is going with the younger man.
“The only thing I worry about is father time, that’s the only thing that’s never been beat. Tyson is older now. I pray that he comes out healthy.
I think Jake Paul cause of the youth, that’s the only thing, because of the youth.”
