Anthony Joshua will be a keen observer of the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Famously, the Brit has twice faced Usyk in the ring. The first time was back in 2021 when he put three of the four major world titles on the line against the former undisputed cruiserweight champion on London.
It proved a difficult night for Joshua and ended in a points loss after the competition of 12 rounds. ‘AJ’ went straight into a rematch in Saudi Arabia in 2022 and the same result followed.
Since then Usyk has gone on to defend his belts against Daniel Dubois, who Joshua faces this weekend for the IBF belt vacated by the Ukrainian, and he also defeated Fury in the epic undisputed showdown back in May.
In December, Usyk and Fury go at it again and Joshua has now revealed to Sky Sports that he would be keen to fight either man, but said he is concentrating on taking care of his own business with Dubois first.
“If they call me to fight them, 100 per cent. It’s what I do. Fight. I’ll be ready. It’ll be an honour to fight them two. I’m not focusing on Usyk and Fury. I’ll watch it. Let me get past Dubois. We’ll see.”
He then admitted that he wants Usyk to win again.
“I think Usyk wins and I’d rather Usyk wins.”
Should he come through his own fight with Dubois, all eyes will be on Saudi Arabia in December to see who Joshua might get for an undisputed contest in 2025.
