Artur Beterbiev is one of the most fearsome fighters in boxing.
The newly crowned undisputed light heavyweight champion has a record of 21-0, and up until his showdown with Dmitry Bivol, had won all of his fights by knockout.
Bivol became the first man to take Beterbiev the distance when they met in Saudi Arabia, but it was Beterbiev who got the majority decision verdict to remain undefeated and walk away with all four world titles.
Before that, the 39-year-old had stopped every fighter that was put in front of him, gaining knockout wins against the likes of Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Joe Smith Jr, Callum Smith and Anthony Yarde.
Despite being seen by many as an extremely scary fighter due to his huge power, Beterbiev has named the man that he deems to be the scariest fighter in boxing.
Speaking to DAZN, the Russian was asked to name which fighter came to mind with certain word associations, and when asked who was the scariest, he didn’t hesitate to answer.
“Scary? Mike Tyson.”
He also stated that Tyson was the first man he thought of when it came to power, most underrated, and knockouts.
Mike Tyson retired in 2005 with a record of 50 wins and 6 defeats, with 44 of those victories coming by knockout. He is set to return to the ring in November for a controversial bout with Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, despite now being 58-years-old.
As for Beterbiev, a rematch with Bivol could come next, but his promoter Bob Arum has revealed it may not be as soon as fans would like.
