Pound-for-pound stars Terence Crawford and Naoya Inoue made their respective returns to the ring last weekend.
‘Bud’ Crawford picked up arguably the best win of his decorated professional career as he defeated Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez via unanimous decision to capture the undisputed super-middleweight championship in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As for Inoue, the Japanese sensation made the fifth consecutive defence of his undisputed super-bantamweight championship with a comprehensive points victory over long term rival Murodjon Akhmadaliev at the IG Arena in Nagoya, Japan.
One man that has played a key role in the respective careers of Crawford and Inoue is legendary promoter Bob Arum, who guided both fighters for a period of time.
Speaking on social media, Arum didn’t hesitate to name Inoue as the best fighter in the world once again, backing up the claims he made previously when he said that ‘The Monster’ was the greatest fighter that he has ever seen.
“This is the greatest fighter in the world.”
Inoue has proven himself to be one of the greatest fighters of his entire generation since making his professional boxing debut back in 2012, winning world titles in four weight classes up until this point.
The 32-year-old currently holds all four major world titles in the super-bantamweight division but prior to this he reigned as the undisputed champion at bantamweight, making him a two-weight undisputed champion.
He is set to make the sixth defence of his crown later this year as he gears up to face Alan Picasso on December 27 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
