There aren’t many in boxing that have seen more than Bob Arum.

The legendary Top Rank chief has worked in the sport for over 50 years, and at 93-years-old still shows no signs of slowing down.

Arum has promoted a number of big names throughout his time in boxing, but it is one of his up and coming stars that he believes has what it takes to become one of the best in the world.

The lightweight division has become one of the most exciting weight classes around over the past few years, due to the emergence of pound-for-pound contenders like Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson and Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Davis is the reigning WBA champion, Stevenson holds the WBC title while Lomachenko is in possession of the IBF belt, but Arum has told YSM Sports Media that upcoming world title challenger Keyshawn Davis can beat all of them.

“I favour Keyshawn over anybody in the lightweight division right now, including Lomachenko. If Lomachenko comes back I don’t think he’ll be as great as he was before. He was never really big enough at lightweight. He was better at featherweight and junior lightweight.

“I think Keyshawn is better than anybody in the lightweight division.”

Keyshawn Davis is in action on Friday when he challenges Denys Berinchyk for his WBO crown at 135lbs. It will be just the 13th professional fight of Keyshawn’s career, having rapidly risen through the ranks ever since claiming a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

It has been an extremely heated fight week, with Davis accusing the Berinchyk camp of a racist incident, and that has led Teofimo Lopez to weigh in with a controversial view of his own.
