Bob Arum has worked with some of the best heavyweights in history.
The legendary Hall of Fame promoter is the CEO of Top Rank, and has been involved in boxing for over 50 years.
Arum’s career in the sport took off when he began working with Muhammad Ali, who is widely regarded by many to be the greatest big man of all time.
Ali was involved in some iconic bouts, most notably the ‘Rumble In The Jungle’ with George Foreman, and the ‘Thrilla In Manila’ with Joe Frazier.
Arum then worked with Mike Tyson during the early stages of his career, with ‘Iron Mike’ going on to become undisputed heavyweight champion and one of the most ferocious fighters the banner division has ever seen.
Most recently, Arum helped guide Tyson Fury back to the world heavyweight title, as ‘The Gypsy King’ was involved in epic bouts against feared American puncher Deontay Wilder.
The Top Rank chief now has a new star emerging in the heavyweight ranks, after he told The Sun that he believes Bakhodir Jalolov will become world champion.
“He is a uniquely talent fighter, and I do not doubt that he’ll one day be a dominant heavyweight champion.
“His combination of size and power from a southpaw stance doesn’t come around too often.
“Every time I watch him fight, I am amazed by his composure and unique skill set.”
Jalolov has a professional record of 14-0, with all 14 of those victories coming by knockout. As an amateur, he won two Olympic gold medals in the super-heavyweight division, displaying just how talented the Uzbek star is.
One issue that Jalolov has had is inactivity, having not fought in the professional ranks since November 2023, but he hopes that will all change when he’s set to make his long-awaited return to action in April.
