With just hours to go until fight night, Teddy Atlas has made his prediction for the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rematch.
Beterbiev and Bivol do battle once again on Saturday, four months on from their first meeting which saw Beterbiev come out on top by majority decision to become undisputed light heavyweight champion.
In the build-up to their initial contest, boxing fans were split on who they thought would come out on top, and it has been much the same for the rematch, indicating just what a close 50-50 bout it is.
Boxing trainer turned pundit Atlas has now shared his thoughts on his YouTube channel, stating that while he was wrong to pick Bivol in their first fight, he is confident he will get revenge in the rematch.
“Full transparency and I take pride in that, the first time I picked Bivol I was wrong. I was the first one to say Beterbiev won the fight. I didn’t play that game and say he got a gift.
“I thought Bivol would win the first time, I do think he will win the second time. I love both guys. That’s what makes a great fight, you can make an argument for both guys.
“Beterbiev is getting a little older, maybe that helps Bivol, but Beterbiev has also had more time to repair and rehab the knee. At the end of the day, I’m going with the old analogy, you take the test the second time you already got the answers.
“When you go in there you just ace that test. I’m going to say another great fight, another warrior type fight with two warriors in different ways, but Bivol aces the test this time. He gets an A+. He got an A last time, but against this guy you need an A+.”
All will be revealed this weekend when Beterbiev and Bivol do battle once again, and unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is another big name that has predicted the rematch.
