Martin Bakole remains on the hunt for big heavyweight battles with the likes of Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker.

Bakole refers to himself as ‘the most avoided heavyweight on the planet’ and few would argue. He is a big puncher who stopped highly-rated American Jared Anderson last year. It was the American puncher’s first lost and a bruising one that involved multiple knockdowns.

Right now Bakole is in camp preparing to face Efe Agagba and the winner of that contest will become the mandatory challenger to the IBF heavyweight title.

That title is currently held by Dubois, who was elevated to champion after his knockout victory over Fillip Hrgovic last June, then backed it up with a career-best win over Anthony Joshua, who he stopped inside five rounds in London last September.

On 22 February, he defends it again, this time against the similarly in-form Parker who has beaten Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder in his last two outings.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Bakole was asked for his prediction for that fight and is going against he odds and has sided with the former WBO champion.

“I think Joseph Parker will win the fight because Daniel Dubois, we saw him against Usyk, Daniel Dubois doesn’t want to fight someone who is moving a lot and I think Joseph Parker will do the same. That’s my opinion, Parker will take over and win the fight.”

Bakole is not the only heavyweight backing Parker, with a former sparring partner of both men also siding with the New Zealander.
