Tony Bellew thinks someone is getting knocked out when Tyson Fury takes on Arslanbek Makhmudov.
‘The Gypsy King’ has not fought since he was soundly outpointed by Oleksandr Usyk back in December 2024. That was only the second loss of his career, and a second consecutive loss to Usyk, who became the undisputed heavyweight champion as a result.
Just days after, Fury announced his retirement and remained out of action for the whole of 2025, only to get back in the gym earlier this year.
He recently announced that his return opponent will be Makhmudov, a giant Russian who was last out against Dave Allen.
Allen started well, but Makmudov’s size eventually told and he got a points win, though he has previously lost twice to Agit Kabayel and Guido Vianello, both by stoppage.
Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Bellew was asked what he made of the fight.
“Fair play to him, Makhmudov is a solid operator, strong puncher. He’ll do what he is supposed to on the night. He’ll make Tyson Fury look good, he’ll get punished at range. I think he’ll get chewed up and spat out after about eight or nine rounds.
“Body shots will be the undoing of him, Tyson Fury is a decent body puncher. He’s a decent all-rounder. He’s underrated in certain aspects of the game he really he, is a high-level operator.”
Fans hope Fury comes through this one and eventually has a long-awaited showdown with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua.
