Tony Bellew has made his final prediction ahead of tonight’s Dillian Whyte vs Moses Itauma battle.
Former world title challenger Whyte and rising star Itauma collide in a crossroads heavyweight showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this evening.
It sees Whyte attempt to get back to the level that saw him claim victories against the likes of Joseph Parker and Derek Chisora, while Itauma looks to continue his fine run of form that has seen him put together an unbeaten record of 12-0, 10 of those wins coming by knockout.
At Friday’s weigh-in, Whyte came in at 244.5lbs, in what is his lightest weight since facing Marcelo Nascimento over a decade ago, leading to some onlookers to debate whether he can upset the odds against Itauma, with former foe Derek Chisora ‘changing his mind’ on the fight and declaring ‘the big bad wolf is back.’
One man who has a strong opinion on the bout is former cruiserweight world champion Bellew, who told IFL TV he still expects it to be a quick finish for Itauma.
“I think it’s over inside four rounds. I don’t know why I think that because Dillian hasn’t showed… well he has shown signs. The Tetteh fight was not very good. A man is only as good as his last fight, and you’ve got to judge him on that.
I think Dillian Whyte is a really good fighter and he was a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division, but I think every fighter has a window and I think his window has passed, which I’m sorry for. It’s a shame, he’s beat some really good fighters and he’s been in some really hard scraps but he’s shown he’s worse for wear for them scraps now.”
Bellew isn’t the only one to make a prediction for the fight, with his former rival David Haye also sharing his thoughts.
