Tony Bellew ‘Feels For’ Tyson Fury Following Press Conference Incident

Tony Bellew has come out in support of Tyson Fury following plenty of controversy at his latest press conference.

Fury has not only dazzled in the ring over his long career, but has also been hugely entertaining outside it. He is a great talker, fantastic wind-up merchant and has put on great shows at press conferences over the years, including dressing as Batman ahead of his first world title win over Wladimir Klitschko in Germany back in 2015.

His father, John, has often been just as outspoken and has become the main talking point various times throughout his son’s career.

This week, to announce Fury’s first fight back for more than a year, ‘Big John’ has been at it again. First he threatened Carl Froch with plenty of shouting and swearing, and now he has intimidated much-loved boxing journalist Steve Bunce.

In response on X to a new video that captured the moment, former world champion Bellew has expressed his concerns.

“This was very sad to watch.. 😔 I’ve had my words with Steve over the years but never ever would I threaten him! Disgraceful… I feel for the likes of Shane and Tyson cos he’s there father and they have to stand by him but this is just too much.. 😔”

Tyson returns to action in April for the first time since his retirement in January 2025. He takes on the towering Russian, Arslanbek Makhmudov, who last time out managed to get a points win over another British heavyweight, Dave Allen.
