Moses Itauma sent shockwaves throughout the heavyweight division with another blockbuster performance on Saturday.
Itauma returned to action for the second time in 2025 when he went up against Dillian Whyte in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a bout that was set to be the toughest test since turning professional in January 2023.
Whyte had defeated fighters such as Joseph Parker, Derek Chisora and Alexander Povetkin throughout his near 14-year boxing career, and so it was clear why some believed he could potentially drag Itauma into deep waters during the later rounds.
Just like all of his fights to date, Itauma was able to pass the test with flying colours though, as he dominated the action from the start and needed less than two minutes to blast out Whyte and claim a dominant first round knockout victory.
It has seen the 20-year-old extend his undefeated record to 13-0, with 11 of those victories coming by knockout, and now 8 of them inside the very first round.
One man who was seemingly very impressed with Itauma is former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew, who discussed the victory on social media and said that the youngster’s temperament is ‘scary.’
“He’s a brilliant fighter with all the tools at his disposal! The fact that he’s so cool and calm is scary.”
Bellew isn’t the only big name to heap praise on Itauma following the victory, with former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury also stating that the win shows exactly why he backs the youngster to be the future of the heavyweight division.
