Tony Bellew Sums Up Jake Paul’s Boxing Ability In 4 Words After ‘Disturbing’ Mike Tyson Fight

Jake Paul‘s November fight with Mike Tyson still has people talking but not for the reasons they might have hoped.

This controversial contest played out in Texas in November and saw the 27-year-old former YouTuber take on the almost 60-year-old former world heavyweight champion Tyson.

It was a rather tame contest in which Tyson looked every bit his age and struggled to plant his feet and throw many punches while Paul moved around the ring and picked off ‘Iron Mike’ seemingly at will. His record now sits at 11 wins with just one loss to Tommy Fury.

Speaking to October Red, former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew had a damning assessment of Paul’s approach to picking his opponents but did admit that he ‘isn’t actually that bad’ as a boxer.

“I just think it’s sad that Jake Paul is targeting grandads and you know what he doesn’t have to do it because he isn’t actually that bad. He works really hard and fair play to him but why are you targeting a grandad, mate? He’s 58 years old, and a full 58 years old.

This is a worn-out man who has been through so much in his life and it just wasn’t nice to see. The one thing I’ll give Jake Paul credit for is he took his foot off the gas. He bowed at him and let him survive and I think fair play.

I just find it wrong and disturbed. That’s the word for it ‘disturbing’. Its disturbing to see a man fighting a grandad who’s nearly double his age.”

In the aftermath of the fight, Paul had to deny the fight was scripted after several accusations to that effect, while plenty of people who know Tyson have commented on why he was seen biting his glove throughout the fight.
