Tony Bellew thinks Oleksandr Usyk is almost unbeatable unless he steps into the ring with one man.

So far, no professional has even come close to hurting Usyk, let alone beating him. He has never been down as a professional, and after winning the Olympic Gold medal at London 2012 he has gone on to beat the likes of Daniel Dubois, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, all twice.

He is history’s only two-time undisputed heavyweight ruler in the four-belt era and recently announced he would like to fight notoriously big hitter Deontay Wilder.

However, speaking on Froch on Fighting, former cruiserweight world champion Bellew, who fought Usyk in 2018, admitted that he sees young Moses Itauma as the only real challenger to the Ukrainian.

“I hope he walks away with his head held high. I’d hate to see time beat that man. Everyone laughed at me for saying he’d beat Fury not once but twice. He’s on another level.

“The only match for him that could cause trouble and I know he’s not ready now, is Moses Itauma. He’s the only fighter I believe. But you can’t throw him in with Usyk when he hasn’t been past six rounds, it’s unfair to the lad. To be fair to him, that’s one thing his promoter has been brilliant with is whole career.”

Itauma has been hailed as the future of boxing by many. He has won all 13 of his fights to date, 11 by KO, though has never faced anyone of the quality of Usyk. This month he takes on the American Jermaine Franklin.
