Tony Bellew is a keen boxing observer who thinks one current world champion is not using the best of the skills he has.
Bellew himself maximised his career and made the most of what he had by rising up through the ranks and winning several belts along the way, including the British and Commonwealth light-heavyweight titles between 2010 and 2014.
He peaked in 2016 when he won the WBC world cruiserweight title by knocking out Ilunga Makabu at the home of his beloved Everton FC in front of a full stadium, then went on to twice beat heavyweight David Haye.
Now posting on X, he has replied to an account asking if Gervonta Davis is the face of boxing but clearly disagrees.
“He has everything! Such a waste.”
‘Tank’ has an impressive a 30-0-1 record with 28 KOs thanks to his explosive power and silky southpaw technique.
The dominant lightweight champion has also held belts at super featherweight and super lightweight and has beaten the likes of Ryan Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz and Frank Martin, often while dealing with plenty of out of the ring issues which have meant he doesn’t always fight that often each year.
Last time out back in March, he drew with Lamont Ranch Jr and was due to have a high-profile exhibition match against Jake Paul on November 14 this year, though it was abruptly cancelled after serious allegations of battery, kidnapping and emotional distress emerged in a civil lawsuit filed against Davis by his ex-girlfriend.
