Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn is a hugely anticipated all-British showdown that Tony Bellew thinks will come to a ‘vicious’ end.

Neither Eubank Jr nor his long-time family rival have been world champions in the boxing ring, but both are high profile given what their fathers achieved in the 80s and 90s.

Their paths first crossed back in 2022 when they talked themselves into a clash that was due to take place in October of that year.

However, Benn tested positive for a banned substance, the fight was canned and Eubank went another route while Benn had to spend two years attempting to clear his name.

In that time, the 28-year-old fought in the US twice and got two low-key points wins, while Eubank was stopped by Liam Smith in 2023 before reversing the result for his own early finish.

With Benn now free to fight on British soil, the two are due to settle their grievances on April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Speaking to SportingTalk ahead of that, Bellew claimed it will be a fight of two halves.

“If [Benn] feels any kind of exhaustion, that last thing you want to do is be in with a bigger man. It’s two fights in one, first six Conor will be so ferocious, so brutal, so vicious, I think he gets the job done.

“If he doesn’t get the job done by round six, that’s why weight divisions exist. Benn is a far better fighter than Eubank is a boxer. And that’s the problem he’s having, he’s got in his mind he’s a masterful boxer, no you’re not.”

Eubank is indeed the naturally bigger man and Benn is coming up two divisions from his natural welterweight for this contest. Eubank will not be allowed to put on more than 10lbs above the middleweight limit of 160 on the morning of the fight, as per the contract.
