Tony Bellew thinks one former heavyweight world champion is going through a difficult time.

Bellew is a former world champion himself, and he remains closely connected to the sport of boxing as a pundit but also a fan.

He is renowned for his honesty as well as his compassion for other fighters and now that has come out with regard to Deontay Wilder.

The American was once the king of the heavyweight division, a fearsome puncher who had knocked out every single man he faced while making many defences of his WBC crown.

That was until he met Tyson Fury, when he got a controversial draw in the first fight and was then stopped in the next two. Since then, he has made many outlandish claims about Fury cheating, blaming his coach, and blaming a suit he wore to walk out to one of the fights for his losses.

He has since also lost to Joseph Parker on points and by KO to Zhilei Zhang. Despite this, he returns to the ring soon to face fellow veteran heavyweight Derek Chisora.

Bellew has shared his concerns in a new post on X in which he responds to a video interview with ‘The Bronze Bomber.’

“This brother is going through some stuff and it’s all coming out in the wrong places… I feel for him and hope he works this out I really do.. it’s not nice to watch.”

Wilder has made headlines recently for repeating the cheating accusations to Fury, as well as opening up about personal struggles outside of the ropes. In the video in question, the American heavyweight discusses ‘betrayal’ from his family.

Chisora, like Wilder, has had 49 fights and is now over 40 years of age, but has had a better run of form, winning his last three, so could prove a tough challenge for Wilder at this stage of his career.
