Stoppage specialist David Benavidez has weighed in on the Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis fight.

Paul vs Davis is scheduled as an exhibition bout on November 14, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, after being moved from Atlanta due to issues with the commission.

The controversial bout will be contested over ten, three minute rounds at a catchweight of 195lbs. The fighters will sport 12oz gloves, however there has been back and forth as to whether this might change.

Because of the huge size disparity between Paul and Davis, the fight will not count on either fighter’s official professional record, but a winner will still be declared via three scoring judges at ringside. ‘El Monstruo’, David Benavidez, believes they won’t be needed.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, the WBC Light Heavyweight World Champion said that while he himself is not interested in performing in exhibition fights, he believes the bout is good for boxing and thinks it ends inside the distance.

“I’m not trying to disrespect Jake Paul and Tank’s fight. It is what it is. I want to see it. It’s a trip, because Jake Paul’s a big fighter and he’s been getting stronger. He’s been improving, but Gervonta Davis is Gervonta Davis. What I like about this fight is he’s a smaller fighter but he’s not a boxer, he’s a f***ing killer. I want to see how he reacts to a punch from Jake, and that’s if Jake can even catch him. This is going to be a better exhibition fight because Gervonta’s not going to be running, he’s going to try and hurt Jake every single round.

“Jake is gonna weigh 190, then be 210 against a fighter that’s 150, 140 … If it’s small gloves, it goes both ways … We ain’t hating on it. It’s good for boxing. Hopefully we get a knockout. I don’t think it goes the distance.”

Though there certain rules like the glove size makes a stoppage harder to achieve, both men are undoubtedly going to talk up their chances of a highlight reel finish as the event edges closer.
