Conor Benn has given his verdict on Chris Eubank Jr.‘s boxing future.
These two generational rivals have shared the ring twice in two quite different fights. Eubank triumphed in the first after it was engaging and full of action throughout, claiming the points victory as the bigger and more experienced fighter.
The rematch in November saw Benn come out on top with a wide points decision after many thought Eubank looked to be suffering at the weight.
Speaking to iFL TV, Benn was asked about Eubank Jr’s boxing future after he recently shared a post explaining he has had some long-term health difficulties.
“He’s done well in his sympathy thing, but ultimately, do I care? No I’m not bothered. He should retire.”
Despite that view, he was asked if he still thought Eubank would still fight again.
“I do yeah, and I think that would be the worst decision he ever made. He should retire. He’s finished. That first fight has finished him, he’ll never be the same.
“His chin, he looks vulnerable. It ain’t there no more, and you’ve got to know when that light has been dimmed and stomped out, because that’s what I did. He has to sit there and go Conor has my soul in the palm of his hand, forever.”
Benn is now looking to push on for his first world title fight and has called out the likes of Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney and WBC ruler Mario Barrios.
