Conor Benn has shared his thoughts on Shakur Stevenson‘s impressive performance over Teofimo Lopez on Saturday night.

Stevenson put on an outstanding display against Lopez at Madison Square Garden in New York City to capture the WBO world super-lightweight title and become the fastest four-weight world champion in boxing history.

All three of the judges at ringside scored the bout 119-109 in favour of Stevenson in what is already being considered to be the finest performances of his professional career to date.

Shortly after Stevenson was declared the winner on Saturday night, Britain’s Conor Benn stormed the ring and appeared to call out the unbeaten American for a future showdown.

Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Benn revealed that he would be open to facing Stevenson at 147lbs next before he says the unbeaten American’s performance against Lopez was ‘boring’,

“If he wants it, he can get it. I mean he’s calling for it so no problem. Let’s do it in a stadium back home. We’ll do that next. That’ll be my first fight back at 147. No warm-up.

“Yeah, I mean if you like boxing, phenomenal defence, IQ, you know, phenomenal fighter. But mate, boring. Like boring. Honestly, I got to maybe the fifth round, sixth round. It’s like do something, let your hands go. If it was so one-sided, just let your hands go a little bit, do you know what I mean?”

Benn was last in action back in November when he defeated bitter rival Chris Eubank Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their rematch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England.
