Bob Arum knows a good fighter when he sees one.

The legendary promoter has been involved in boxing for nearly 60 years, dating back to when he first promoted Muhammad Ali in 1966.

In the decades since, Arum has worked with some of the biggest names in the sport, including Mike Tyson, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1999, and at 92-years-old still remains at the helm of Top Rank, one of the biggest boxing promotional companies in the world.

One of Arum’s current fighters is Artur Beterbiev, who recently became the undisputed light-heavyweight champion with a majority decision victory over Dmitry Bivol.

It was a tight contest tactically fought over 12 rounds, but it was Beterbiev who had his hand raised to add the WBA belt to his WBC, WBO and IBF straps.

Arum was understandably thrilled to see his man come out on top with the victory, and stated on social media that the win makes Beterbiev one of the current greats within the sport.

“Congratulations to the new undisputed light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev, on a well-deserved victory. He is truly one of the greatest fighters of this era.”

The pound-for-pound debate is always a hot topic in boxing, with fighters such as Terence Crawford, Oleksandr Usyk, Naoya Inoue and Canelo Alvarez all in the conversation for the top spot.

Beterbiev may have joined them following his victory over Bivol, and he has he is willing to take an immediate rematch to further cement that.
