Bob Arum Says One Man Stands Above Ali, Mayweather, Crawford And Tyson As The Best He’s Ever Seen

Legendary promoter Bob Arum has worked with an abundance of legendary fighters during his 50-year career and has revealed who he believes is the best ever.

The former lawyer made the transition into boxing back in 1973 when he established Top Rank alongside Jabir Herbert Muhammad, who was the manager of Muhammad Ali for the majority of his professional career.

Since he began his promotional career during the 1970s, Arum has promoted well over 400 world championship fights and has represented a number of all-time-greats including the likes of Ali, Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford and Floyd Mayweather.

In more recent years, Arum has played a key role in the respective careers of former unified world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and unbeaten Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue, who currently holds the undisputed super-bantamweight championship.

Speaking to Jai McAllister, Arum spoke fondly of ‘The Monster’ Inoue as he claims the 32-year-old is the ‘best fighter he has ever seen’.

“Inoue is not only pound-for-pound the best in the world, Inoue is the best fighter I’ve ever seen, no matter what weight category or anything.

“I have never ever in the almost 60-years I’ve been in boxing seen anything like Inoue.”

With an outstanding career resume and a set of accolades that speak for themselves, Inoue has proved himself to be one of, if not the best fighter on the planet in the last few years.

‘The Monster’ remains one of the few active fighters to have won an undisputed championship in multiple weight classes, having achieved this feat at bantamweight and super-bantamweight respectively.

The 32-year-old is set to make his return to the ring in December as he gears up to face Mexico’s David Picasso in what will be the sixth consecutive defence of his undisputed super-bantamweight championship.
