Bob Arum Says One Man Stands Above The Rest In His 60 Years Of Promoting: “He’s The Best I’ve Seen”

Legendary promoter Bob Arum has revealed the one fighter that he ranks above any other fighter that he has worked with during his career.

Arum began his promotional career way back in 1973 when he established Top Rank alongside Jabir Herbert Muhammad, putting an end to his successful tenure as a lawyer.

Since then, the 93-year-old from New York City has gone on to guide the careers of many legendary fighters, including the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr, Oscar De La Hoya and Muhammad Ali to name just a few.

In more recent years, Arum has played a pivotal role in the resurgence of former unified world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, who came back from a number of personal difficulties to dethrone Deontay Wilder of his WBC heavyweight crown back in 2020.

Another highly ranked fighter that Arum has worked with for a number of years now is Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue, who currently reigns as the undisputed super-bantamweight champion.

Speaking to Jai McAllister, Arum sensationally claimed that Inoue is the best fighter that he has ever seen during his over 50-year promotional career.

“Inoue is not only pound-for-pound the best in the world, Inoue is the best fighter I’ve ever seen, no matter what weight category or anything.

I have never ever in the almost 60-years I’ve been in boxing seen anything like Inoue.”

‘The Monster’, who was previously the undisputed champion at bantamweight, remains unbeaten as a professional since his debut back in 2012, defeating the likes of Nonito Donaire, Luis Nery and Stephen Fulton along the way.

He is set to make the fifth defence of his undisputed crown at 122lbs on September 14 when he faces Uzbekistan’s former unified super-bantamweight champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev at the IG Arena in Nagoya, Japan.
