Legendary promoter Bob Arum has revealed who he believes to be the greatest fighter of all time.
Arum made the move into boxing during the sixties before he eventually established Top Rank Boxing in 1973, a promotional powerhouse which still operates to this day.
The 93-year-old has worked with some of the greatest fighters to have ever laced up his gloves during his career, including the likes of Muhammad Ali, Manny Pacquiao, Thomas Hearns and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In more recent years, Arum has played a pivotal role in the resurgence of British heavyweight legend Tyson Fury, who bounced back from a number of issues outside of the ring to defeat WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in 2020.
Despite working with an abundance of legendary fighters throughout his tenure, Arum revealed in an interview with Jai McAllister that he believes Japanese star Naoya Inoue is actually the best fighter he has ever laid eyes on.
“Inoue is not only pound-for-pound the best in the world, Inoue is the best fighter I’ve ever seen, no matter what weight category or anything.
“I have never ever in the almost 60-years I’ve been in boxing seen anything like Inoue.”
Inoue, who is perhaps best known as ‘The Monster’, currently reigns as the undisputed super-bantamweight champion having already achieved this feat at bantamweight. The 32-year-old from Kanagawa is set to return to the ring before the end of the year, as he is expected to lock horns with Uzbek star Murodjon Akhmadaliev in their long-awaited battle.
